When it comes to public agendas, everyone claims to fight for the greater good. Support this cause. Stop feeling a certain way. You’re wrong if you do that. You’re right if you agree with us. I could be wrong but the greater good is starting to sound like a mechanism, or dare I say “weapon” to manipulate public opinion.
The Greater good? Greater for who? Greater for the world or greater for a few? If we all have rights and every person matters, why are the agendas we create so selfish in nature? Agendas demand their own platforms. Respect and consideration are no longer factors in the decisions they make to co-exist. And when all else fails and the greater good doesn’t agree or join the movement, agendas begin to attack and influence our children.
I am not against agendas. I am against agendas that are self-serving and lose their purpose over time. If you’re fighting for equality, stop fighting for a pedestal. You can’t fight racism when you hate against yourselves. Why can’t we work together instead and create agendas that support the real greater good (each other)?
3 Agendas that Support and Protect the Real Greater Good
1. End Bullying & Discrimination
Think about this. How many current agendas can connect with being bullied or discriminated against? In the absence of discrimination or being bullied, how many other problems could we solve? Would women have equal rights? Yes. Would racism still exist? No. Would gay people be accepted by the rest of the world? Absolutely.
And here’s the best part. By fighting together to end bullying and discrimination, individual agendas would have a louder voice for a much larger stage and audience. You are no longer speaking to a crowd for just gay people or just black people or just women’s rights. You are now speaking to a crowd that is against discrimination of every kind.
By working together and standing united, minority groups build a much larger army to support each of their own issues with.
2. Respect and Consideration for Others
What you do behind closed doors is your business. But, in order for the world to function and co-exist, we must have respect and consideration for others. You can’t expect people to understand and support a cause that imposes on their lives. Their values. That makes them feel uncomfortable.
Right or wrong, don’t become the bully by refusing to care and forcing your position on others. Help us to understand. Give us a chance to change our own minds. Be willing to compromise on issues we can’t agree on.
There are plenty of respectful and considerate ways to solve problems. Dictating your agenda or shaming a person who doesn’t agree isn’t the best way to make new friends.
Quite the opposition.
3. Give Kids an Agenda Free Education in Schools
Note: You only need to watch the 1st couple of minutes of this video to understand the point I make.
And I quote, “The initial purpose of the United States public school system was NOT to inspire children or generate scholars. And it wasn’t created for dreamers; people who color outside the lines, break the rules and challenge the status quo. The public school system of the early 1900s was invented to create a nation full of adults who would obediently do their jobs…”
Funny how history repeats itself. Agendas continue to be disguised as part of the education system and are being force fed to our kids to inspire their obedience as adults. It is a recruitment process.
All our children need in school is a basic education and the ability to become creative and individual thinkers. Go ahead, teach them not to bully or discriminate but do it without the bias of outside influence or agendas.
The real greater good can never be served by agendas with selfish intentions. By agendas that disguise and deceive. By agendas that demand respect and consideration without respect and consideration for others.
Serving the real greater good, with emphasis on greater, doesn’t have to be difficult either. Stop bullying and discrimination, have respect and consideration for others and give our children the education they deserve; free from obedience to agendas and outside influence.
Those are 3 agendas that I will gladly support and protect.
