2018 saw it’s fair share of ups and downs for my family. I am extremely grateful for the ability to raise my kids as a single father and even more grateful for the people who have been there to help. My sons are doing much better in school, becoming a lot more responsible and enjoying other activities outside of playing videogames all the time.
My daughter is doing just fine being a beautiful 5 year old princess.
At this point and as 2019 approaches, I truly feel that 2018 has afforded me the opportunity to finally make much needed improvements on myself. I’ve tried to grow my own blog (DadsLyfe). I’ve tried to lose weight and start my own business(es). The time for trying is over.
My New Year’s Resolution for 2019 is simple:
- Dedicate 2 hours a day to growing my blog.
- Start my own digital marketing business.
- Lose 30 lbs in 6 months.
Simple? Actually, yes. DadsLyfe.com is already here. You’re reading from it now. The next step is to create content on a consistent basis. At least 2 blogs a week and I’m sure I can do that. I’ll market and monetize my blog as well but all I really want right now is to share my life and progress as a father. Where it goes from there is a topic for a whole different conversation. You know, once the blog actually begins to grow?
My digital marketing business has been a work in progress for over 3 years now. I already own everything I need and the start-up costs are super low. I’ve had really good success helping my clients in the past to market and grow their businesses online and am confident that my new plan can help people even more. I could tell you what that new plan is, and will, but need to iron out a few details and put the wheels in motion first. Stay tuned.
Believe it or not, losing weight is a much harder issue for me than building an online business or blog. It requires a combined effort of getting to the gym more often and eating better foods (on a budget). Something I’ve never been able to do on my own. I’ve been in shape before but again, not on my own. I was only an athlete because I played basketball in high school, joined the military, fought forest fires and trained in martial arts for 4 years each. There was always help and a reason to exercise and eat healthy(ish).
I am determined now more than ever though and feel that this is the year I finally break through and achieve my goals in 2019. I will build and grow DadsLyfe.com, start my digital marketing business and lose 30 lbs in the next 6 months (and all on my own). No more excuses. It’s time to make life happen.
What’s your New Year’s Resolution?
P.S. – And before you ask, yes, I also plan to improve my life as a father. I don’t consider that a New Year’s Resolution, however. It’s more like a lifelong commitment and purpose.
